India (after Mumbai) with a population density of 25,000

center and financial hub. It is also a city steeped in history
and heritage, having a rich tradition of culture, education
and the Visual and Performing arts. With average lifestyles
leaning heavily towards pursual and excellence in higher

has been this in-house talent that has been the genesis
of the growth of the IT and IT Enabled Services (IT-ES)
in the city over the last few years.
A
recent NASSCOM study on the competitiveness of nine cities
in India as destination for IT Enabled Services has ranked
Kolkata 4th. In the IT sector the state has registered
a compounded average growth rate of 114% in the five-year
period from 1996-2001. The State’s vision is to
rank among the top three IT states in India by 2010 and
contribute 20% of the country’s total IT revenue.
Kolkata
is set to take off in the IT sector. The hub of this explosion
is centered around Sector V, Salt Lake, an area whose
development has been spearheaded by the West Bengal Government’s
initiative and a very positive IT policy. And it is in
the heart of this Sector V is Mani Tech, the latest offering
from the Mani Group, keeping up to the utmost modern IT
requirements.
